Bio-Origins secures the cost-share funding of The Partnership to set up a pilot manufacturing plant in Ontario

Bio-Origins Inc. has established a pilot manufacturing plant in Cambridge Ontario. This project was funded by the Canadian Agriculture Partnership, a five-year federal-provincial-territorial initiative. The pilot plant will demonstrate and manufacture packaging from locally grown miscanthus and switchgrass.

Work started on this project in early 2020 and engages supply chain partners with process design and optimization. The project will directly contribute to the reduction of plastic waste; it will assist the agricultural sector with the diversification of uses of biomass.

There will be a positive impact on the food sector in terms of making sustainable choices for packaging. The pilot plant will serve as a precursor to scale up plans of Bio-Origins Inc.
